Do you believe in God? This question may be one of the most important questions you'll ever be asked in your life. St. Matthew 16:26, Jesus said, "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" I want you to really think about what that verse is implying. Many people in the world today believe in many things but they don't believe in God. You may be one of them. If that is true, I would hope that you would take the time to read this article carefully. I am not writing this article to condemn anyone but simply to get you to think about what's important in your life.
Let me give you some reasons to believe in God. One reason is that we are not a creation of mere chance. Evolutionist will tell us that we originated from simple single cell organisms and that we evolved from apes. And by chance, we have mutated into what we are today. When I look around this world and see the little things like the complexities of a little leaf and all of its intricate designs, it leads me to the fact that this world did not come into being by simple chance but by the creation of a supreme being, God.
Another reason to believe in God is the way we have seen Him work in our lives and the lives of others. In all circumstances, whether good or bad, I have seen the way God has been taking care of me and really changing my life for the better. I truly don't know where I'd be right now without God in my life.
Despite all appearances and because of the tragic condition of human existence, all things really do work together for the good to them that trust and love God. Our relationship with God should be a joyful and a wonderful experience of never-ending celebration because it is based and built upon a rock of the dependable and invincible redemption of God. Our God is more than a creator and sustainer. God supersedes all our imagination and expectation when God takes up the cause of our redemption. Our God is a redeemer, a rebuilder, and reestablishes the covenanted relationship between God and humanity.
We must come to the realization that many of us couldn't make it on our own and that many of us are drowning in a sea of sin. You may be the nicest person in the whole world or you may think that you are a really good person in heart but nice and good don't cut it. The reality is that we are all sinners. Romans 3:23, says "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Nevertheless, the crown of righteousness is reserved for those who fight the fight, finish the course and keep the faith. So the only logical conclusion for many of us is to build a solid relationship with God. It’s so reassuring, so comforting, and so peaceful knowing that there's someone out there looking out for us and who’s in control of our world that seems to be spinning out of control.
God’s great history of the world has a happy ending because there is no power, no problem, and no experience that is greater than God’s love. God who answers our prayers, recreates the universe, and baptizes the earth in rain that it may abundantly produce a fruitful harvest. God is the eternal power of rejuvenation, revitalization and restoration. God offers the same grace and mercy to all who come to him in faith. Romans 10:9-10 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. There is an eternal reward that awaits all of us in a future life to compensate for all of the trials and tribulations that we have gone through in this life. Regardless of your current life situations God has not forgotten about you, Romans 5:8 plainly says “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16-17.
